Narwal Freo X Ultra

A top-rated and highly-functional Gen 4 robot vacuum and mop that adopts a new approach to design, the Freo X Ultra is a well-made machine. The price of $1400 may be hard to swallow however, it is usually offered for sale to make it more affordable. The unit looks fantastic, and the base takes up very little room in a corner.

The design of this machine addresses some problems we've encountered with other robotic mop and vacuum cleaners, such as brushes that get caught in hair, and the vacuum brush not being able to reach the bare flooring beneath furniture. The sweeping performance is also impressive on carpets and flooring. The vacuum/mop unit has an excellent amount of debris removal, and the mop is able to absorb the bare floor quickly.

The mops utilize a clever system that cleans the edges of walls and around furniture.  robot vacuum cleaners  can easily avoid obstacles like food bowls, toys and backpacks. But it can get stuck or entangled with smaller and flatter objects, such as shoelaces USB cables, and pen.

We used this robot to clean and mop a mix of pile carpet tiles, FLOR carpet and hardwood floors in an open, large floor layout. With FREO Mind enabled, it vacuumed and mopped the 90m2 space in around 170 minutes which is about the average for Gen 4.

Several features distinguish this robot from other models in its class. The Freo X Ultra has a array of sensors, software and hardware improvements designed to keep it at the top of its game. It has declared autonomy of 3.5 hours for environments of up to 260m2.

Freo's app allows you to customize multiple functions, including how often the robot goes to the base station. You can also change the frequency of mopping and the power level (silent, intelligent) or the mopping humidity.  smart robot  can detect heavily dirty spots and create an effective cleaning route. It can also dispensate detergent, or raise the carpet pads.

Other impressive features include an easy-to read display on the robot’s underside and the dock door is convenient to open. The Freo X Ultra is the most efficient vacuum and mop for home and apartment owners who want to make a difference in their chores while still keeping their home clean and tidy.

Miele Scout RX3

Miele is not a slouche in the robot vacuuming world and is renowned for quality and technological innovation.  smart robot  aims to take it to the next level by incorporating smart features and top-notch cleaning performance.

The RX3 features a dual-suction system smart mapping system that includes 3D mapping as well as a camera which transmits live images to your smartphone. Its powerful four-stage cleaning system provides excellent dust removal on hard and carpet flooring, while the intuitive side brushes that swing out and dual suction channels keep corners clean. Its 8.5 cm height lets it reach under furniture with low levels. Front cameras and an infrared sensor assist in navigating barriers, thresholds and obstructions with ease.

The Scout RX3 impressed us in our test of how well it was able to clean baking powder around baseboards and corners. Its 2,500Pa of suction was a little weaker than some other robots, but it moved quickly and was very quiet. It didn't mop however and its cleaning pads were difficult to attach and could not deal with dirt that had dried on.

The app doesn't have advanced features such as multiple cleaning modes or automated scheduling. It does support Alexa, but its voice controls aren't precise or responsive. It's also flaky when it comes to navigating its way back to the charging station after running -- other robots can follow a previous route or sensibly follow a wall around until they get to their home, but the RX3 just bumbles about until it finally gives up and sends a message of failure to your phone.

We also encountered issues with the intelligent features of the device, namely its mapping feature and the digital stay-out zones. While it did a decent job of avoiding our furniture legs and shoes however, it was easily caught by cables and socks and was unable to handle the tassels that adorn carpets. We didn't include the Scout RX3 on our Best Buy list. The Scout RX3 offers a good price and a dazzling performance. It's worth a look as an alternative to traditional uprights.
